event recap: canoe in the county
A harvest celebration of Canadian cuisine and the terroir of Prince Edward County.
On Sunday, September 27, our team was honoured to take part in a harvest celebration of Canadian cuisine—connecting people to the great tastes, terroir, and spirit of Prince Edward County. We were graciously hosted by Parsons Brewing Company, as our chefs collaborated with the region’s top restaurants, winemakers, brewers, and distillers.
The afternoon began with a walkabout reception, featuring cheese from Fifth Town and canapés created by Chefs Alexandra Feswick (The Drake Devonshire), Jamie Kennedy (Jamie Kennedy Kitchens), Elliot Reynolds (Bloomfield Public Market), Samantha Valdivia (La Condesa / Koenji), Hidde Zomer (Flame + Smith), and our own John Horne, Ron McKinlay and Anthony Walsh. Guests sipped on fine vintages, beers, ciders, and spirits by renowned producers such as Closson Chase Winery, Rosehall Run Vineyards, Stock + Row, and many more, as beverage ambassadors shared the stories behind their products.
Following the reception, a three-course meal with wine pairings was served. The menu was a collaboration between Canoe’s three chefs along with Zach Littlejohn (Littlejohn Farm), Albert Ponzo (The Royal Hotel) and Enid Grace (Enid Grace Culinary / The Piccolina Bar & Mercato).
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable event. We can’t wait to return to the County again!
